Have done some good tours on my 87' some to Sturgis SD from Gillette WY 240 miles round trip in a day for the weekend.
and while in Green River WY to Salt Lake City UT weekly (160 mile each way) and never had a problem, aside from loosing the
side cover (says Savage and goes over electrical stuff). Planning a trip from Green River WY to Yellowstone park 350 miles pluss crusing
at the end of July.

As far as storage room... just bought a little motorcycle trailer and made a hitch to
pull behind the bike. should have plenty of room for 200-250 pounds, plus myself (180lbs)and my wife (115lbs). I know
that most people out there that write often in this forum will have something negative to say about the trailer... however
the bike will do just fine and speeds should only be affected by a small decrease in acceleration and a drop in top speed from
80mph to 70mph. This should be fine scince I dont want to rocket along with a trailer.
Have moved the stock back rest behind my seat with a little bracket and wow what a difference in comfort...... building a new backrest for the
passenger that is taller for long trips.

My only problem with my bike is that 80mph top speed, those that say 80 is fast enough for a 650 should sell theirs and invest in a
honda 50 or a susuki 80, I think they top 65 or so. But when i have a 650 and the style i want.. the thing should run 95 so that a cruse on
the interstate isnt maxing the bike just trying to keep up with trafic and not cause a 350lb bottle neck. 34 hp out of a 650 is pathetic and
with the minds of this forem... we should be able to overcome this hurdle... if we could get away from the "get a bigger bike" comments.
